What is Local?

Everyone has to define local for themselves. For some, local means within a 100-mile radius of your home. Foodstalk has chosen to define local as within a 200-mile radius from your home (give or take a couple of miles, we're not cutting off local to a farm that is 203 miles away). To put it in perspective the largest food co-op in NYC defines local as within a 500-mille radius. This is so they may offer their customers fresh produce options throughout the year and a 500 mile drive via highway is doable in one day or less. Foodstalk recommends you define local for yourself and try to stick to it as much as possible. Remember, fundamentally the term local means a close to home as possible.
